To ensure that everything is in prime condition, letting agents and landlords are advised to ensure that an OFTEC Registered Engineer services and inspects all oil fired systems at least annually.

Planned maintenance reduces the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Oil storage tanks and pipes should be checked for general condition and any leaks should be repaired and a carbon monoxide detector should be fitted.

An OFTEC CD/12 Landlord Oil Installation Check Form needs to be issued that verifies all installations comply with Building Regulations, Health & Safety and Efficiency Regulatory Requirements.
